I gave Re-faithful and Re-Faithful “Tweaked” a shot and had a blast. It’s my favorite in the series and honestly should be experienced by every mother fan. I hope this does inspire people to give this game a shot. Now use Earthbound Zero Improvement Tweaks but this time patch it with the Font and Gameplay patch. Grab your Earthbound Zero rom and patch it with Mother Restored This uncensored the game and will give you Tomato’s translation. IMO this makes progression pretty organic given that this is an NES RPG, I’d compare it to like Final Fantasy 6? But in return their stats will grow normally. BUT, the encounter rate is reduced enough so you can take at least 2 steps and XP is raised 25% as well as making every character back to level 1 when you get them. Make sure you read the description but in a nutshell, it reverts a lot of the rebalancing to Earthbound Zero so it’s more of a purist experience now. But after actually looking at somewhere other than PKHack, thanks to a user which I can’t find the comment for. But I just can’t in good faith recommend it due to a number of reason but the main one is the way it does leveling and it ended up ruining people’s experience. So I constantly see people ask what version to play Mother 1 and a lot of times I see 25th anniversary edition get brought up.
